Call for nominations: Extraordinary Election to fill a vacancy on the LACNIC Board of Directors

Montevideo, 15 January 2026

In accordance with the provisions of Article 22 of the LACNIC Bylaws, the Board is summoning an extraordinary election to fill a permanent vacancy on the Board of Directors.

The term of the new Director will begin on 1st July 2026 and will end on 31st December 2028, in accordance with the term of the vacant position being filled.

To ensure proper participation in this extraordinary process, the following dates have been set:

•  Call for Candidates:
  • Opens: 24 March
  • Closes: 7 April

• Voting:
  • Opens: 21 May
  • Closes: 28 May

The Board of Directors invites members to participate in this election and contribute to the formation of this body, which plays a vital role for the institution's operation.

* We remind you that, under Article 24.1.1 of the LACNIC Bylaws, Incompatibilities for Members of the Board of Directors, candidates from Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico are ineligible to stand for this election.
