Support for Latin American and Caribbean Internet Governance Initiatives in 2026
LACNIC provides support to Internet Governance initiatives in our region for the organization of their events.

- National Youth initiatives
- Internet Governance Schools
What does our support consist of?
- Financial assistance*
- A Zoom Webinars account with capacity for up to 500 participants
- Participation of LACNIC experts as speakers
*Note: The funds to be allocated are limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to initiatives that meet the requirements specified in the call for proposals.

Applications missing some of the information required (including missing e-mail information for Committee members, number of editions, and dates/years of most recent events, etc.) will not be accepted.
Eligibility
Support will be given to organizations participating directly in planning and carrying out an NRI or an Internet Governance School. Financial assistance will be allocated for hosting NRI events, including renting a venue, paying for catering, advertising, outreach efforts, and grants, among other expenses.
Moreover, organizations should have the following to receive the funds:
For IGFs:
- A website for the initiative. Date and venue of the forum should be on the website.
- Details of the current year’s organizing committee on the initiative’s website.
- An open call or consultation plan aimed at receiving inputs on the forum's program and agenda.
- A registration or application page for those interested in participating in the initiative. This information must be public and open to everyone.
- An official bank account for the organization in US dollars.
- The ability to issue an invoice.
For IG Schools:
- A website for the initiative.
- Date and venue for the School.
- Alignment with agenda topics.
- A publicly accessible page with information on how to register and/or apply to participate if spots are limited.
- Engagement with other institutions within the Internet Governance ecosystem.
Applications to request support for your IGF or IG School must be submitted no later than 8 weeks prior to the proposed event date.
Application process
After we receive your application, we will proceed with the call scheduled via the support request form. The purpose of this space is to facilitate an initial exchange, allow us to get to know you better, share key information about the program, and clarify any questions you may have regarding the application.
Selection criteria
- Fill out the application form and meet the necessary requirements.
- Have a multistakeholder organizing committee.
- Be a Latin American and/or Caribbean initiative.
- Have an official bank account in your name in US dollars and the ability to issue an invoice.
- Priority will be given to initiatives that have not previously received support from LACNIC, provided they meet the requirements specified in the form.
Reporting
NRI and IG Schools organizers who receive sponsorships must submit the following required reports to LACNIC:
- Evidence-based event data (for example, number of participants, stakeholder groups, country, etc.)
- Financial reports demonstrating the allocation of the funds granted by LACNIC.
Reports must be submitted within twelve weeks of the event’s conclusion in your preferred format via e-mail to nris@lacnic.net.
Transparent management of the information provided regarding your initiative is a requirement for receiving support in future editions.
