He has long been committed to disseminating best practices that have shaped how the Internet is built and maintained in the region. His work in education is equally remarkable. A great teacher, he was responsible for training and mentoring thousands of professionals who currently work across the most diverse ASNs in Brazil and Latin America, sharing his knowledge of routing, network infrastructure, and the principles of an open and resilient Internet. Maia is a true multiplier of knowledge and an active voice in the defense of a free, inclusive, and sustainable Internet, one that continues to drive development and innovation for all of society. Considering his extensive career, I am pleased to recommend his candidacy for the LACNIC Board of Directors, confident that his experience, vision, and commitment will be essential to continue to strengthen Internet governance in our region.
