FRIDA Program Opens Call for Proposals to Fund Projects Related to Internet Development

FRIDA, the Regional Fund for Digital Innovation in Latin America and the Caribbean, announces the opening of the 2023 call for proposals to provide funding to projects, initiatives, and solutions that contribute to the consolidation of a global, open, stable, and secure Internet.

The call is focused on three thematic categories: Internet Stability and Security and its subcategory focused on the use and application of Blockchain; Connectivity and Internet Access and Open and Free Internet. Interested applicants may apply in 2 ways:

-grant, aimed at providing non-reimbursable financial financing and technical support to projects, initiatives or solutions with a maximum duration of 12 months

-Award modality, which consists of a distinction accompanied by economic recognition. This last category highlights projects, initiatives or solutions that present concrete evidence of impact.

This year a new line of non-financial technical support is incorporated. This line seeks to assist non-selected projects in areas such as partnership development, access to knowledge and capacity building, feedback and advice, among others. Between 6 and 8 projects with the best evaluation average after the projects selected for funding will be receiving this support. 

The call for proposals will remain open until Wednesday, 31 May 2023 11:59 UTC-3 time.
