Call for candidates to fill one position in the LACNIC Fiscal Commission

The Electoral Commission of LACNIC has the honor of confirming Hernán José Arcidiácono to occupy one position in the Fiscal Commission of LACNIC for the period of 3 years from this moment and until the end of the electoral process of 2023.

This interim results seeks to avoid the disclosure of unofficial results through channels external to LACNIC.

According to the provisions of LACNIC's bylaws and the calendar of this electoral process, between 27 July and 3 of August, 2020, elections were held in order to select the candidate who will occupy one seat on LACNIC's Fiscal Commission; votes were collected online.

Who can vote?

LACNIC members: Active “A” Members and Founding Members.

The organization must be current with their membership fees on the closing date for voter registration specified in this year's calendar (the list of organizations authorized to vote).

Each member organization has a designated representative in LACNIC's database (Nic Brasil – Nic Mexico), the organization’s membership contact, who will receive an email containing their voting link.

Each member is fully responsible for the veracity and update of their membership contact's name and email address, as well as the rest of the information included in LACNIC's database (Nic Brasil – Nic Mexico).

Online voting will be conducted using LACNIC's election software.

Reason for the nomination: Hernán Arcidiácono is a committed member of our Community who actively works to expand and improve our Internet.

He has a solid technical and administrative background which he has acquired through years of experience working with companies in the Internet sector.

For many years, he has collaborated with CABASE, the Argentine Internet Chamber, as head of the Buenos Aires IXP.

He is a member of LAC-IX, the Latin American and Caribbean Internet Exchange Point Operators Association, an organization to which he has contributed since its inception.

He is currently a member of LACNIC's Fiscal Commission, where I believe he has done an excellent job.

His extensive knowledge, professionalism and experience in technical, accounting, financial and procedural matters make him an ideal candidate for the Fiscal Commission.

In light of his integrity, vocation, honesty and responsibility towards our Community in building an Internet that includes more people across our Region, I believe that the community should renew Hernán's mandate.

The three members are responsible for controlling all accounting books and documentation, other powers and responsibilities may be find in article 27.

Who can be candidate?

Candidates must be citizens of the countries or territories that are part of LACNIC's service region.

Not more than one member with the same citizenship may be elected (*).

Only one member may have employment or consulting relationships with the same company or organization.

Candidates may or not be part of the organization submitting the nomination (self-nominations are allowed).

(*) Given that the Bylaws establish that members of the Fiscal Commission must be citizens of different countries, Brazilian and Mexican candidates will not be accepted for these elections.
