LACNIC Opens Call for Proposals for the 6th Edition of the Líderes Program

LACNIC's Líderes Program  announces that the call for proposals for the sixth edition of its funding and mentoring initiative for individual research on Internet Governance issues is now open.

Líderes will continue to provide key support to researchers in local communities to study topics with local impact and a local perspective under a grant and mentorship format and will amplify knowledge of such issues throughout the region and even around the world.

This year, the program will support research in the following thematic categories:

  • An Open Internet for Everyone: Meaningful Access and Human Rights in Digital Environments
  • Emerging Technologies, Sustainable Innovation, and Artificial Intelligence
  • Cybersecurity and Digital Trust
  • Multistakeholder Governance, Digital Cooperation, and Public Internet Policies

Selected proposals will receive US$1,500 in funding, will be supported by a mentor knowledgeable about global Internet governance issues, and will have a period of three months to complete their research project.

Proposals will be accepted until 9 May.
