Positions, call for candidates and expressions of support

Positions

A call for candidates to fill one position on the LACNIC Fiscal Commission is now open.

The Fiscal Commission is comprised of three members whose positions are voluntary (unpaid) and who each serve for a three-year term. 

Its members are responsible for overseeing accounting documentation and validating the financial documents presented by LACNIC at the Annual Member Assembly.

Candidates

Candidates must be citizens of the countries or territories that are part of the LACNIC service region.

Not more than one member with the same citizenship may be elected. (*)

Only one member may have employment or consulting relationships with the same company or organization.

Candidates may or may not be part of the organization submitting the nomination (self-nominations are allowed).

(*) Under the Bylaws, members of the Fiscal Commission must be citizens of different countries, so candidates from Brazil and Mexico will not be eligible to run in this election.

Nominations are verified by the Electoral Commission based on the following regulations:

Who can submit a nomination

LACNIC Members: Internet Service Providers (ISP), End Users, and Founding Members.

Nominations must be submitted by the organization's designated representative registered in the LACNIC database (NIC Brasil – NIC México): the organization's membership contact.

The organization submitting the nomination must be current with their membership fees. Each organization may only nominate one candidate.

Who can submit expressions of support

Candidates shall be endorsed by two members other than the member submitting the nomination, who at the same time shall endorse the accuracy of the information submitted by the candidate in their nomination as well as the candidate's competency and suitability.

Expressions of support must be submitted by the organization's designated representative registered in the LACNIC database (NIC Brasil – NIC México): the organization's membership contact.

The organization submitting the expression of support must be current with their membership fees.

Call for candidates closes: 30 February at 18:00 UTC.
