Latin America and the Caribbean Internet Addresses Registry (LACNIC)

The Latin America and the Caribbean Internet Addresses Registry (LACNIC) is an international, non-governmental organisation established in Uruguay in 2002. It is responsible for assigning and managing Internet number resources (IPv4, IPv6), Autonomous System Numbers, and Reverse Resolution for all of Latin America and parts of the Caribbean. LACNIC is managed and run by a board of seven directors elected by LACNIC members. This group of members comprises more than 10,000 network operators who provide services in 33 Latin American and Caribbean territories.

American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN)

Established in December 1997, the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) is a nonprofit, member-based organisation that supports the operation and growth of the Internet. ARIN accomplishes this by carrying out its core service, which is the management and distribution of Internet number resources such as Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs). ARIN manages these resources within its service region, which is comprised of Canada, the United States, and many Caribbean and North Atlantic islands. ARIN also coordinates policy development by the community and advances the Internet through informational outreach.

Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU)

The Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU) is a Caribbean intergovernmental organisation dedicated to facilitating the development of the regional telecommunications sector. The CTU assists the development of telecommunication within the Caribbean; facilitate the coordination and development of intra-regional and international telecommunication networks to meet the immediate and future needs of the Region; provide a forum for discussion and resolution of technical telecommunication issues concerning the Region; and assist advocacy in this area, in national, regional and international fora.

Organization of American States Inter-American Committee against Terrorism (OAS-CICTE)

The Inter-American Committee against Terrorism is the only regional entity whose purpose is to prevent and combat terrorism in the Americas.

CICTE promotes cooperation and dialogue among member states to counteract terrorism, in accordance with the principles of the OAS Charter, with the Inter-American Convention against Terrorism, and with full respect for the sovereignty of countries, the rule of law and international law, including international humanitarian law, international human rights law and international refugee law.

LACTLD

LACTLD is a nonprofit association which promotes an Internet that contributes to economic and social development by using domain names. Its core target group comprises administrators of the region’s country code top level domains (ccTLDs). Currently LACTLD has 45 members and acts as a vehicle for cooperation and information sharing among the region’s ccTLD administrators.
