LACNIC's Public Policy Forum is where proposals for defining or modifying the rules or policies that govern how Internet resources are managed in Latin America and the Caribbean are presented, discussed and approved. The forum is open to the public and anyone interested in doing so may participate.
LACNIC's Public Policy Forum No. 33 1/3 was born of the need to create a space to discuss the policies which were not presented at the LACNIC 33 Online Public Forum due to time constraints.
Of the seven policy proposals presented on the list for their discussion at LACNIC 33, three were already presented at the online event held in the month of May. The remaining four proposals will be presented at the Public Policy Forum that will take place this 20 August at 17:00 UTC.
The proposals that will be discussed are the following:
- LAC-2020-1: Add operational IPv6 as a requirement for IPv4 transfers
- LAC-2019-8: Modification of the time required for a proposal to be presented at the Public Policy Forum
- LAC-2019-10: Eliminate the requirement for applicants to return the addresses they have been assigned by their providers
- LAC-2018-13: Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for the Policy List
