Objectives | • To further participants’ knowledge of the theory behind the IPv6 protocol and help them acquire the practical skills needed to configure the protocol in different environments. • To understand the general structure of planning an IPv6 deployment. • To present aspects of static and dynamic routing related to IPv6. • To have an overview of how to configure services in IPv6, with emphasis on concrete examples. • To present different aspects related to managing and monitoring an IPv6 network and its security. • To acquire practical knowledge of address management tools (IPAM) and subnetting in IPv6, static and dynamic routing (OSPF and BGP), configuring services (DNS and Web), and IPv6 monitoring (Smokeping). |

Time Required from Participants | Students will complete six weeks of theory, partial examinations, and practical exercises, after which they must pass a final exam (mandatory). Each module will be open for one week. During that time, participants will be able to contact the tutor for questions. |

Objectives | • To understand the notion of Autonomous System and the differences between internal and external routing. • To understand how BGP works and what it was developed for. • To understand the importance for an organization to have its own routing policy. • To learn how to perform basic BGP configuration tasks. • To identify and analyze the data provided by BGP, using helpful attributes and commands. • To understand the importance and roles of BGP filters. • To learn about Internet routing reliability and measures to avoid route hijacking. • To learn how RPKI Resource Certification works. • To identify and solve basic BGP problems. • To understand and implement recommended best practices for Internet routing. |

*Participants will be accepted in order of registration. Once the total number of free seats for members has been filled, the link will be disabled. Applicants unable to secure a seat for the current edition must wait until the following registration period.

Participants who do not wish to wait until the following registration period may choose to purchase a seat.

When do they receive this information?
Approximately 48 hours before registration opens.
At what time does registration open?
All registration periods will open at 18:00 UTC on the date specified in the 2018 Calendar.
At what time does registration close?
All registration periods will close at 17:59 UTC on the date specified in the 2018 Calendar.
If the total number of seats is filled, registration will automatically close before the specified deadline.
What do participants have to do to access a course?
One day before the start of each course, LACNIC will send an email containing each participant's username and the password needed to login to the Campus platform and start the course.

Penalization Policy for the 2018 Editions:
Based on an analysis of the 2017 editions, a Penalization Policy will be applied for the organizations of participants who do not complete a course.
In this case, the organization may not register for the next edition of the course.
