Call for Applications for the LACNIC IT Women Mentoring Program Is Now Open

The LACNIC IT Women Mentoring Program seeks to promote women’s participation and leadership within the LACNIC community and the broader Internet ecosystem, by fostering their engagement, capacity building, and knowledge generation.

Through an open call for applications, the program will select women who are advanced students or recent graduates in fields such as Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related areas, and who are interested in LACNIC's lines of work and topics of interest(see lines of work and topics of interest).

Selected candidates will work with a mentorto identify, conceptualize, and implement possible proposals on the chosen topic. Mentors are experienced leaders who are part of the technical community.

Each participant will summarize their work in a research poster, which may be presented at the LACNIC event in October 2025.

Among other benefits, candidates whose work receives the top evaluations will be awarded a fellowship to attend the event in person, covering travel from their place of residence, accommodation, per diem, and medical insurance.

Applications will be accepted until 15 January 2025, and the activities will run from March to September 2025.
