Elections for the LACNIC technical forum program committee

Result

As specified in the electoral timetable, online voting took place from 14 to 21 June 2019 to elect two community representatives to the LACNIC Technical Forum (FTL) Program Committee.

Results were as follows:

The most voted candidate will occupy the position for 2 years (June 2019 to June 2021).

The 2nd most voted candidate will occupy the position for 1 year (June 2019 to June 2020), until completing the term of Mariela Rocha.

Consequently:
Jordi Palet, will occupy the position from June 2019 to June 2021
Azael Fernández will occupy the position from June 2019 to June 2020

2019 Election of Community Representatives to the FTL Program Committee

This is an open call for nominations of candidates to occupy 2 positions in the Program Committee of the LACNIC Technical Forum on behalf of the community.

The vacancies will be generated at the end of Jordi Palet's term (June 2019) and the retirement of Mariela Rocha as committee member (term to end in June 2020).

The following criteria will be adopted for the election:

The most voted candidate will occupy the position for 2 years (June 2019 to June 2021).

The 2nd most voted candidate will occupy the position for 1 year (June 2019 to June 2020), until completing the term of Mariela Rocha.

Election Procedure:

The voters registry will be comprised of the subscribers to the three mailing lists:

1. IPv6: https://mail.lacnic.net/mailman/listinfo/lactf
2. Security:  https://mail.lacnic.net/mailman/listinfo/seguridad
3. Interconnection: https://mail.lacnic.net/mailman/listinfo/napla

When only one position is up for renewal, one (1) candidate may be voted. The winning candidate will be the one who receives the highest number of votes.
If N candidates were to receive the same number of votes, a second voting round will be held between these N candidates.

When two positions are up for renewal, up to (2) candidates may be voted. The winning candidates will be the two most voted.

If N candidates were to receive the same number of votes, a second voting round will be held between these N candidates. The winning candidates will be the two most voted.

Nominations must be submitted to any of the three mailing lists (IPv6, Security, Interconnection) and must contain the following information:

1. Name of the candidate
2. Candidate's email address
3. Name of the person nominating the candidate
4. Biography and/or additional information (optional)

Candidates must be subscribed to at least one of the mailing lists (Security, IPv6, Interconnection) and may be self-nominated or nominated by a third party who is subscribed to at least one of these lists.
