LACNIC at APNIC's 20th Anniversary Celebrations

This week, a top-level delegation from LACNIC ? the Internet Address Registry for Latin America and the Caribbean ? is participating at the 36th conference of APNIC, the organization responsible for managing Internet addresses the Asia Pacific region.

The meeting is being held in Xi'an (China) and its highlights include celebrating the 20th anniversary of APNIC, an organization created in 1993 as the world's second Regional Internet Registry.

LACNIC Board members Oscar Robles (Vice President), Hartmut Glaser (Treasurer), Javier Salazar (Secretary) and Wardner Maia; LACNIC´s CEO, Raul Echeberria; and Internet Numbering Resource Analyst and Policy Officer, Juan Peirano, travelled to China to join APNIC in celebrating this milestone.

LACNIC would like to congratulate its sister organization APNIC for the work carried out during the past 20 years to successfully manage Internet resources for the Asia Pacific region.
