FRIDA, the Regional Fund for Digital Innovation in Latin America and the Caribbean, announces the opening of the 2024 call for proposals to provide funding to projects, initiatives, and solutions that contribute to the consolidation of a global, open, stable, and secure Internet.
On this occasion, in addition to its three thematic categories, Internet Stability and Security and its subcategory focused on the use and application of Blockchain; Connectivity and Internet Access and Open and Free Internet, in its 20th anniversary, the program incorporates a fourth category defined together with the regional community, called Artificial Intelligence applied to the Internet and networks.
Interested applicants may apply in 2 ways:
- Grant, aimed at providing non-reimbursable financial financing and technical support to projects, initiatives or solutions with a maximum duration of 12 months,
- Award, which consists of a distinction accompanied by economic recognition. This last category highlights projects, initiatives or solutions that present concrete evidence of impact.
Those projects that are not selected will be able to access the non-financial technical support line, a type of support incorporated in its last edition, which seeks to assist in areas such as the development of alliances, access to knowledge and capacity building, feedback and advice, among others.
