LACNIC Opens Call for Proposals for the 5th Edition of the Líderes Program

LACNIC's Líderes Program  announces that the call for proposals for the fifth edition of its funding and mentoring initiative for individual research on Governance issues is now open

Líderes will continue to provide key support to researchers in local communities to study topics with local impact and a local perspective under a grant and mentorship format and will amplify knowledge of such issues throughout the region and even around the world.

This year, the program will support research in the following thematic categories:

  • Internet for All: Inclusion, Development of Digital Skills, and Impact on Human Rights
  • Artificial Intelligence, Innovation, and Emerging Technologies
  • Cybersecurity and Cybercrime - Building Online Trust
  • Internet and Public Policy
  • Internet as an Instrument for Social and Economic Development

Selected proposals will receive US$1,500 in funding, will be supported by a mentor knowledgeable about global Internet governance issues, and will have a period of three months to complete their research project.

Proposals will be accepted until 13 May.
