Candidates Elected in This Year

During 2020, LACNIC's Electoral Commission audited and oversaw a total of six election processes for both LACNIC members and the community of Latin America and the Caribbean.

The three elections defined in the LACNIC Bylaws were held to appoint new members to the Electoral Commission, the Fiscal Commission, and the Board of Directors. Only LACNIC members participated in these elections.

The candidates elected to serve on the Electoral Commission are Vivian Valverde (Costa Rica) and Nancy Julia Cordova (Peru), who will each serve a three-year term that began on 29 May 2020.

Members also voted Hernán José Arcidiácono (Argentina) to a position on the Fiscal Commission for a three-year term that began on 7 August.

The third bylaws-mandated election was held to fill two positions on the LACNIC Board. Maria del Carmen Denis Polanco (Mexico) and Gabriel Adonaylo (Argentina) were the winning candidates and will each serve a two-year term starting on 1st January 2021.

In addition, community members participated in two election processes, the first of which ratified sole candidate Sergio Rojas (Paraguay) to serve on the IANA Numbering Services Review Committee (RC). His term will begin on 1st January 2021 and will end on 31st December 2022.

The second community election process concluded with the ratification of sole candidate Jorge Daniel Villa (Cuba) to serve on the ASO Address Council. His term will also begin this 1st January and will end on 31st December 2023.

Finally, LACNIC's Electoral Commission oversaw the process to elect a co-chair for the Public Policy Forum, which resulted in the election of Ariel Weher (Argentina) to serve for a two-year term which began in May 2020.

We invite you to participate in LACNIC's election processes, encouraging member participation and nominating candidates to the various elected positions.
