Geofeeds - New Tool Added to LACNIC's Services

The beta IP address geolocation service used by organizations and companies in Latin America and the Caribbean has completed its experimental phase and LACNIC's Geofeeds is now a tool with public information for the regional community.

This IP address geolocation service for Latin America and the Caribbean is inspired by the recommendations of IETF draft Self-Published IP Geolocation Feeds.

The voluntary contribution of each LACNIC member organization with the data on their IP address blocks is essential for obtaining public information about where IP addresses are being used (country, region, city).

The more information contributed to Geofeeds, the better the geolocation of Internet addresses in the region.

This service is available in the “Geolocation” section of MI LACNIC where the administrators of LACNIC member organizations can voluntarily generate geolocation information for their IP addresses.

The information contributed by LACNIC members is publicly available at https://milacnic.lacnic.net/lacnic/geofeeds.
