1. Can I participate in the IPv6 Challenge even if I have already participated in an earlier edition of the Challenge?

Yes, of course. The purpose of the Challenge is for participants to demonstrate how much they have increased IPv6 deployment in their networks during a specific period of time, regardless of their earlier work.

2. Organizations from which countries can participate in the Challenge?

Organizations from countries included in the LACNIC service region: https://www.lacnic.net/1004/2/lacnic/about-lacnic

3. I am not a member of LACNIC. Can I still participate?

Yes, no problem at all. Even better if you decide to apply for resources and become a member.

4. I don't have IPv6. Can I still participate?

Yes, of course. Any organization can participate, with or without IPv6. Join us for the IPv6 Challenge!

5. I don't have advanced knowledge of IPv6. Can I still participate?

Yes, you can! The Challenge will allow you to learn.

6. Will the information about my proposal be made public?

The IPv6 Challenge Committee will not ask you to provide confidential information about your network. Any information we receive will be treated with complete privacy and will never be made public.

7. We have already deployed IPv6 in part of our network. Can we still participate in the Challenge?

Yes, no problem at all. Part of the goal of the Challenge is for participants to enable and document the expansion of their use of IPv6.

8. My company wants to take part in the Challenge, but we are not ready to begin implementing IPv6 as we are still in the planning phase. Can we still participate?

You can participate. However, the Committee will give preference to practical implementations.

9. We have already deployed IPv6 in 100% of our network. Can we still participate in the Challenge?

You can participate. However, the idea is to demonstrate how much progress you have achieved in your network in terms of IPv6 during the period of the Challenge. To participate, we suggest expanding your network.

10) How does the Committee select the winner of the IPv6 Challenge?

The Committee uses a scoring system. Each member of the Committee assesses each submission according to criteria such as:

  • A) Number of new services and servers with IPv6 support.
  • B) Quality of the reports presented to the evaluation committee.
  • C) Number of people that benefit from the IPv6 deployment.
  • D) Other variables that may lead an IPv6 deployment and/or advance to be perceived as significant.
