FRIDA Program and Start UP funds 2014

FRIDA has been providing financial support in the form of "small grants" to research initiatives in the field of ICTs for economic and social development since 2004. During this period, the program has awarded more than one million non-reimbursable dollars.

In 2010, the program added the FRIDA Awards aimed at recognizing outstanding initiatives that have made a real and significant contribution to the region's development. In 2013, the Awards were transformed into Awards+ and the possibility of submitting proposals for extending/ furthering some of the activities included in the original proposals was added.

In 2014, FRIDA is adding a new option – the "FRIDA Start-Up" Program – to continue to promote and support innovative projects so that they can achieve greater impact beyond the original project itself.
