LACNIC to Co-Organize the First IETF Event to be Held in the LAC Region

This past November 3rd and within the framework of IETF 94, Carlos Martinez, Chief Technology Officer at LACNIC, announced LACNIC's participation as co-organizer of the IETF 95 meeting.

The Internet Engineering Task Force brings together professionals representing the various fields which define the protocols that will shape the Internet in the coming years.

The first IETF meeting to be held in Latin America and the Caribbean will take place on 3-8 April, 2016 at the Hotel Hilton Buenos Aires. It's worth noting that IETF 95 will mark the 30th anniversary of IETF standards development.

In the words of Martinez, "We at LACNIC believe the IETF's work is essential for maintaining a secure, stable, open and continuously growing Internet. The Buenos Aires meeting is the result of the work carried out with other regional organizations and recognizes the region's growing importance in technological innovation and the Internet.
