NIC- BR - LACNIC Agreement
In September 2000, NIC-BR (National IP Address Registry for Brazil) and LACNIC signed and agreement whereby NIC-BR granted LACNIC for an initial period of two years the human resources and technical infrastructure necessary for LACNIC to begin operating as regional Internet address registry for Latin America and the Caribbean. NIC-BR agreed to implement LACNIC's operational center, established in the city of Sao Paulo.
This agreement, vitally important for the start-up of LACNIC, has been renewed twice and is currently still in force.
