Opening Panel: Evolution of DNS Privacy and Security

Panelists:

Moderator: Carlos Martínez (LACNIC)

The Domain Name System or DNS is one of the basic pillars that support the operation of the Internet as we know it today.
Security considerations have long been cause for concern among the technical community, and the work on this aspect has led, among other things, to the creation and implementation of Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC). DNSSEC, however, is not enough to address every aspect of securtiy and does not contribute to privacy. DNS privacy considerations are a relatively recent concern, but they have generated great interest and much work has been done on the topic. This panel will attempt to offer different perspectives on all of these aspects, but with an emphasis on the most recent developments such as DoT and DoH (DNS over TLS and DNS over HTTPS).
