Childcare Services

To encourage parents of young children to participate, LACNIC will offer an on-site childcare service during the LACNIC 32 event.

This service will be provided by local producer WOW through qualified childminders and entertainers.

The service will be free of charge for children of event participants who are duly registered, but the number of places is limited.

Children 1 to 12 years old can be registered for the service. Children will be divided into two groups based on their age: one group will be for children aged 1 to 5, the other for children 6 to 12. Each group will be assigned entertainers and will participate in age-appropriate activities, including arts, recycling, music, crafts, and sports and movement workshops. The childcare room will be set up at the Megapolis Convention Center Panama. The room will be especially equipped with baby furniture, small tables, mats and foam carpets for the children. The service will be available from Monday 7 to Friday 11 October from 8:30 to 18:30hs and snacks will be available for the children.

Parents will be responsible for the children's lunch. Two options will be available: parents can either take their children to lunch or they can purchase a lunch service offered by producer WOW by booking it one day in advance (except on Monday 7 October).

Outside the childcare room's opening hours, parents can hire a childcare service offered by producer WOW for USD 14 per hour.

Eligibility Requirements.

Participants interested in applying for the service must complete the following form.

To request the service, the person responsible for the child must:

1. Be registered for the event.

2. Have a confirmed hotel reservation, which must be attached to the application form. This requirement will be waived for participants living in Panama City.

Once the form is complete, LACNIC will review the submitted documents and the applicants will receive confirmation of their acceptance. A waiting list will be created once the maximum number of available spaces has been allocated.

We kindly request that parents who have submitted the application form but have decided not to use the service to communicate this to LACNIC at mail servicioscomunidad@lacnic.net as soon as possible so that their places can be assigned to other parents on the waiting list.
