NSRC: Network Startup Resource Center

Heading:

Broadband is Here. Now What?
Experiences and Strategies Working in the Less Connected World

Summary:

For 25 years, NSRC has worked in more than 120 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Asia-Pacific region, Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

Working jointly with Universities and other Institutions, we have contributed to improve the global Internet, promoting sustainable development through training and technical assistance.

We listen to the needs of our peers and help them by providing technical assistance and long-term strategies. This philosophy has allowed us to build teams and become friends and partners with the people we work with side by side.

In this presentation, I will show how we have managed to help with connectivity over the years. I will talk about the common challenges we have encountered (both technical and social) and what we can do to can solve them; about patterns we have discovered in technology and governance, and how they can change our strategies – including the surprises (good and bad) we've come across over the years.

To conclude, I will look towards the future – ongoing projects and ideas on how to connect the rest of the world using current and new technologies.
