The demand for IP addresses continues to grow, and IPv4 address space has already been exhausted in our region. Given this situation and the need to connect the 30% of the population that is not yet connected to the Internet, it is important to understand the key role that governments, universities, and operators play in the transition to IPv6.

UNICAMP Brazil

Information Technology professional working with computer networks for more than 20 years. PhD in Technology and Information Systems from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Network Administrator by UNICAMP, university professor. He has been active in promoting and driving IPv6 adoption, conducting research, and collaborating with studies on techniques and mechanisms for transitioning to IPv6.

 

Sergio Bustamante
Telecom Argentina

Systems Analyst specializing in Artificial Intelligence, with extensive experience in telecommunication networks and CSPs. He is currently Network Transformation Manager at Telecom Argentina, where he serves as Product Owner for Evolution to IPv6 and Product Owner for connectivity for Fixed Access products. Prior to this, he served as Manager in the process for the transformation of the transport networks of Telecom Argentina and Personal Paraguay, the evolution of the core of Personal Argentina's mobile network, and the operation and maintenance of network and mediation services.

Zueline Aguilar
AIG Panama

Zueline Aguilar is an Electronics and Telecommunications Engineer with a master’s degree in project management and a passion for cybersecurity and innovation. Over the past 10 years, she has held positions as a coordinator, supervisor, and engineer in both the private and the government sectors. She has successfully executed projects in the fields of HFC networks, fiber optics, and mobile services. Currently, her role involves overseeing the modernization of government entities through the National Multiservice Network project of the Telecommunications Directorate at the National Authority for Government Innovation (AIG), as well as security projects in the technology sector. From 2019 to 2021, she served as Director of the Community Networks Committee of the Internet Society Panama Chapter (ISOC Panama), where the goal is to connect the unconnected. She is currently a member of the ISOC Panama Board.
