COVID Information and Protocols in Santa Cruz

For the safety and protection of event participants, face-to-face attendees should be fully vaccinated or, alternatively, present proof of a negative RT-PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before entering the event venue.

The General Directorate of Migration will verify this at the time of entry to Bolivia.

LACNIC will not check for vaccination certificates or test results at the registration desk.

If you are not yet ready to attend a face-to-face event where you will be in contact with a large number of people, or if you do not feel safe with the measures detailed below, you will be able to participate remotely in all the plenary sessions included in the LACNIC 38-LACNOG 2020 program. Once registration for the event opens, we invite you to register as a virtual attendee.

Protocols and Biosecurity Measures

  • What to do if you contract COVID-19 during the event
    • If during your stay in Santa Cruz you test positive for COVID-19 or come into close contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19, you should refrain from attending the event and stay away from the convention center.
    • If you have contracted the virus, you should stay in your hotel room and contact your healthcare provider.
    • It is suggested that you notify the people with whom you have been in close contact and inform the event organizers of the situation at: meeting@lacnic.net
  • Each participant will be responsible for their own healthcare and for having travel insurance with cover for COVID-19. LACNIC will not be responsible for the cost of any healthcare services participants may require.
  • LACNIC will not reimburse COVID-19 tests for participants who do not have a certificate to prove they are fully vaccinated and require a negative COVID-19 test to enter Bolivia.
  • LACNIC will not reimburse COVID-19 tests for participants who require a negative test to return to their country.

Biosecurity Measures at El Conquistador Convention Center (Hotel Los Tajibos)

  • Before the start of the event, the hall is disinfected with a UV disinfection device.
  • All members of the hotel staff will be wearing face masks when dealing with their guests.
  • All members of the hotel staff have received their 3rd dose of the vaccine against COVID 19.
  • Face coverings are optional inside the convention center / The use of face masks is not mandatory.

Biosecurity Measures at Hotel Los Tajibos

  • Circulating through open areas without masking is allowed.
  • Security staff is available at all entrances to guide participants. It is not necessary to present a vaccination certificate or proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test.
  • Diners are asked to wear a face mask when helping themselves to food in buffet-style restaurants.
