LACNIC opens the 2026 edition of the R&D Ambassadors Program

LACNIC opens the call for applications for the 2026 Edition of its R&D Ambassadors Program. This initiative aims to formalize collaboration between key technology leaders in the community and LACNIC to achieve strategic objectives in the development of Internet infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The program's objectives include:

  • Deployment of technological capabilities, such as +RAICES, deployathons, measurement platforms, and BGP collectors.
  • Deployment of critical technologies identified by LACNIC, including IPv6, RPKI validation, ROA creation by operators, and DNS/DNSSEC adoption.
  • Strengthening local human capacities: organization of workshops, tutorials, meetings, and other national activities to disseminate LACNIC's strategic messaging.
  • Promoting research activities: disseminating our research initiatives to encourage and enhance local Internet infrastructure in the region.

This work plan will be part of the process for the selection of up to three candidates. Selected applicants will receive a series of benefits from LACNIC, including personal brand development, the opportunity to present their results at the LACNIC 47 event, and up to US$ 2,000 to support the deployment of capabilities to enhance regional critical infrastructure.
