Carlos Ariel Guarisco Ferreira
I was born in Rivera, Uruguay, I am currently 60 years old and have lived in Brazil for more than four decades. I am married to Marcia and the father of three sons: Pablo, Pedro Henrique, and Julio Cesar. Throughout my career, I have acted with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a solid commitment to cooperativism and governance of the sector.
I have been involved in the field of technology since the 1980s, initially as the coordinator of a pioneering project in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, where I taught computer courses in several cities and contributed to the digital inclusion of local communities.
I am the founder of CEPAIN (Centro Paranaense de Informação), established in 1985, and of CEPAIN Telecom, founded in 1997, where I currently serve as Executive Director. The company operates in several cities in the state of Paraná, where it develops strategic projects in the telecommunications sector.
I am actively involved in the institutional strengthening of this sector, as a founding member of ABRINT (the Brazilian Association of Internet and Telecommunications Providers) and LAC-ISP (the Federation of Associations and Chambers of Internet Providers of Latin America and the Caribbean). I have held leadership positions in both organizations, including project director and vice president of ABRINT, always committed to coordinating public policies, defending the sector's interests, and promoting innovation.
As a Rotarian, I am also proud to support social and community initiatives, maintaining a constant commitment to sustainable development and the democratization of access to technology.
