LACNIC Bids Farewell to Marcelo Corradini with Deep Sorrow

LACNIC is deeply saddened by the passing of Marcelo Corradini, a valued member of our Electoral Commission since 2015, who recently departed after facing a prolonged health condition with admirable strength.

Marcelo was a leader committed to the development of the Internet ecosystem in our region. His active and ongoing participation in LACNIC, especially within the Electoral Commission, left an enduring impact. Over the course of a decade, he tirelessly collaborated with the organization's electoral processes, ensuring their transparency, balance, and institutional legitimacy. We value and appreciate his dedication and willingness to continue contributing, even in the most challenging times.

In addition to his role at LACNIC, Marcelo had an outstanding professional career. A chemist by training, he specialized in telecommunications, computer science, and information technology, and devoted his life to expanding Internet access in Brazil. Since 1999, he was actively involved in the region of Campinas/São Paulo, where he founded networks and companies such as Matrix Internet and Kyatera Informática. He was also a key figure in ABRINT (the Brazilian Association of Internet and Telecommunications Providers), where he held various management positions and participated in numerous projects aimed at advancing the sector.

At LACNIC, we will remember him for his commitment, his humanity, and his dedication to service. He believed in an Internet that served people and worked daily for a more just and inclusive ecosystem. He leaves us with the legacy of his joy, his constant optimism, and his strength to persevere until the end.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. Marcelo has left a profound mark on our community, and his legacy will remain present in the work we do every day.
