IP Address and ASN Administration System

2.1.2 CHANGING AN EXISTING ALLOCATION

The system allows modifying the information relating to the allocation of a block.

To do this, click on the block that contains the allocation.

Then click on "AltAsig"

[ FIG 16 - Allocation Change ]

The following screen will display the information of the Entity that has the block, together with a field that must be completed with the OWNER-ID of the Entity that will receive this block.

If the Entity that will receive the block does not yet have an OWNER-ID, an OWNER-ID must be created. See the previous section, "New Allocations," to obtain instructions on how to create a new Entity.

2.1.3 REMOVING AN ALLOCATION

The system allows removing the information relating to the allocation of an IP block.

To do this, click on the block that contains the allocation.

Then click on "RemAsig".

The following screen will display the information of the Entity that has the block, together with a warning message:

"Attention: Removing this Entity will cause the removal of all allocations and DNS delegations that are within this block. Click on ENTER only if you are sure of what you are doing. The contacts of the blocks involved in this operation will receive a confirmation e-mail."

To conclude the removal process the user must click on "Enter."

2.1.4 DELEGATING DNS SERVERS

The system allows delegating the DNS servers responsible for the inverse resolution of an IP address block, even if this block is not reallocated to another entity.

In order to do this, click on the desired block. If necessary, click on "Expand" until the desired block/prefix is displayed.

Then click on "Delegate."

[ FIG 19 - Delegating DNS Server ]

On the following screen up to 4 different DNS servers may be entered. At least 2 are mandatory.

The names of the servers must be entered, not their IP addresses.

Now the system will check that these servers are already configured to answer for the block's inverse zone.

The process will only be concluded if the servers are configured.
