Membership Categories
Active "A" Members
Organizations that receive IP addresses directly from LACNIC automatically become members.
There are two types of Active "A" Members:
ISPs (Internet Service Providers)
Members receiving IP addresses for their subsequent assignment to customers. An ISP's membership category is determined by the number of IPv4 or IPv6 addresses it has been assigned.

End Users
Members receiving IP addresses for use in their own infrastructure, not to assign them to third parties.

Active "B" Members
Organizations residing in Latin America or the Caribbean or whose activities are carried out mainly in Latin America or the Caribbean that are related to the Internet and meet the following requirements:
- Submit relevant documentation to prove that they have been a legally constituted organization for a period of at least one year.
- Organizations residing in Latin America or the Caribbean or whose activities are carried out mainly in Latin America or the Caribbean, related to Internet development and/or formed by Internet access service providers, that make a relevant contribution to Internet related policies in the region of Latin America and the Caribbean, agree with LACNIC's objectives and request admittance.
- Send a letter/email explaining the motivations for becoming an Active B Member.
- Submit two recommendations by Active A Members, in writing and addressed directly to LACNIC.
- The organization must have a clear role and/or interest in issues related to Internet infrastructure and operation.

- AHCIET - The Ibero American Association of Research Centers and Telecommunication Companies.
- CABASE - The Argentine Chamber of Databases and Online Services.
- CGIBR - The Brazilian Internet Steering Committee.
- eCOMLAC - The Latin American and Caribbean Federation for Internet and Electronic Commerce.
- ENRED - The Network Forum for Latin America and the Caribbean.
- NIC-Mx - NIC Mexico.
Adhering Members
Those who agree with LACNIC's objectives, request admittance, administrate IP addresses outside the address space allocated to Latin America and the Caribbean, and are geographically located in Latin America or the Caribbean, or any person or legal entity. See membership categories and fees

Honorary Members
All persons, companies or organizations designated as such by decision of the General Member Assembly in recognition of the activities carried out in furtherance of LACNIC's objectives.

Those persons or legal entities that contribute significantly to LACNIC's financial support.
