The Latin American and Caribbean Internet Adresses Registry announce the creation of the regional operators' forum, LACNOG.

This initiative, developed by LACNIC, in conjunction with NIC Mexico and NIC Brasil, has as objective generate the exchange of experiences and technic debates about issues related to the Internet network operation and it is oriented to persons with technic and operative responsabilities in Internet Service Providers, Universities and Academic Networks, Private Companies Networks and Internet Exchange Points of Latin American and Caribbean region, among others.

LACNOG initially will be a discussion list, with free subscription, you may access in http://lacnog.org. Face-to-face activities of LACNOG will be held in conjunction with the annual LACNIC's meetings.

The LACNOG creation is one more step in the consolidation of workgroups and technic communities, added to the successful fora such as the IPv6, Regional Interconnection and Security.

The LACNOG subscribers may express themselves in Spanish, Portuguese or Portuguese.
