In September 2003, LACNIC signed an agreement with the International Development Research Center (IDRC/Pan Americas) and the Institute for Connectivity in the Americas (ICA). This agreement has materialized in the FRIDA Program (Regional Fund for Digital Innovation in Latin America and the Caribbean), an initiative through which the participating organizations finance research projects in the area of Information and Communication Technologies presented by organizations from Latin America and the Caribbean.
