Carlos Martínez Appointed Member of the ICANN Security and Stability Advisory Committee

On 23rd October, Carlos Martínez, Responsible for LACNIC's Security and Stability Program, was appointed member of ICANN's Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC).

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC) was created in the aftermath of 9/11 as a mechanism to recruit experts in the field of security. The SSAC currently serves as an advisory committee to the ICANN Board, providing advice and recommendations on issues relating to Internet security and stability.

The SSAC's operation as a competent body depends on recruitment of security experts who agree to donate their time and energy to executing the Committee's mission. On 23 October, members of the SSAC requested that the SSAC Board welcome Carlos Martínez and Xiaodong Lee- into the Committee.
